We are happy to announce iPhone 12 and 13 series and SE (3rd generation) devices will be compatible with our 5G network. In order to enjoy 5G, these devices must be updated with Apple’s latest software. We continue to work closely with our other partners, like Samsung and LG, so customers with 5G-compatible devices can take advantage of our 5G network very soon.
Eastlink customers will immediately experience faster speeds on our 5G network in comparison to 4G LTE and these speeds will continue to get exponentially faster over time.
An Eastlink customer with an iPhone 12 (or 12 mini, 12 Pro or 12 Pro Max), iPhone 13 (or 13 mini, 13 Pro or 13 Pro Max) or iPhone SE (3rd generation) with the latest software installed, within Eastlink’s 5G coverage area, will automatically connect to our 5G network.
No! All of our mobile plans are 5G compatible.
If iPhone 12, 13 and SE (3rd generation) users have the latest software installed, and are within the 5G coverage area, they will see a “5G” indicator on the right top corner of their device.
Yes! iPhones that are 5G-compatible will work on our 5G network.
We are working closely with our Canadian and International partner networks to be able to provide 5G roaming in the near future. Our aim is to give our customers the best possible network experience when travelling.
Of course! Areas not covered by our 5G network will continue to benefit from our fast 4G LTE network.
No, not at all. You can take advantage of our 4G LTE network. However, customers with a 5G-compatible device will be future-ready and will immediately experience the benefits of faster speeds/performance on our 5G network.
