Bring Your Own Device
Switch providers without switching your phone or your number.
1. Bring Your Number
What You Need
- An active local phone number (cell or landline)
- Your phone number must be in your name and you must have authority over the account
- Information such as your name, address and account number as printed on the invoice of your current provider
2. Confirm Your Device Compatibility
For all iPhones
All iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 6 and 6 Plus models work on the Eastlink network. iPhone 5 models manufactured on or after mid-April 2013 are also compatible. To find out if your iPhone 5 supports Eastlink Wireless AWS band (1700/2100), follow these steps:
Tap Settings > General > About and scroll to the serial number at the bottom. Check if your serial number ends with any of these four-digit combinations:
FH19, FH1C, FH1D, FH1F, FH1G, FH1H.
If your iPhone 5 meets both of the above criteria, then it supports AWS band (1700/2100).
Note: You can also locate your original iPhone 5 box and verify that the label includes “1700/2100” under the UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA bands in the upper right corner of the box.
3. Unlock Your device
Be sure your device is unlocked. Many providers “lock” their devices to only work with SIM cards registered to their network. Reversing this programming so that a device is able to work with any SIM card is considered “unlocking”. You can unlock your device online inexpensively through many reputable companies.

5. Activate Your Device With An Eastlink SIM
If your device is compatible with the Eastlink Wireless network, you’ll need to purchase an Eastlink Wireless SIM card and select a rate plan to activate it. You can purchase an Eastlink Wireless SIM card by visiting one of our retail stores.
6. Configure Your Device (APN Settings)
Your compatible, unlocked phone should be able to make voice calls and send/receive text messages on the Eastlink network. However, you may still have to program your phone for MMS and data capabilities.
BlackBerry Users Please Note – If you are using a compatible and unlocked BlackBerry device not purchased from Eastlink, data will automatically be configured when you insert your Eastlink SIM card.
